It never fails. Life just does not ever play out how I imagine it to. And no matter how much perspective I think I have, each time life takes a different course, I am caught off guard.
I think it’s the knowing. It’s a good feeling knowing what to expect. It’s always more comfortable to be in control and to be the one making the choices.
But no matter how safe you think you play it, changes happen and sometimes, they’re going to knock you off your feet. There is one factor that can always be controlled–how you react–how you respond to the things that were never what you expected but with or without your say, have become a reality.
“Bottom line is, even if you see ’em coming, you’re not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does. So what are we, helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are gonna come. You can’t help that. It’s what you do afterwards that counts. That’s when you find out who you are.” -Joss Whedon
